Weimaraner. A German breed of hunting dog of medium to large size, with history going back at least to the nineteenth century. It originated in the area of the city of Weimar, for which it is named. It was recognized as a breed in 1891.

It has a life expectancy of 11 – 14 years and usually weighs 71-82 lbs (male, adult), 55-71 lbs (female, adult).
