    U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). A federal law enforcement agency under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. It is responsible for enforcing immigration laws within the United States, including the investigation, apprehension, and removal of individuals who are in the country without proper documentation, so-called “illegal aliens.” ICE also conducts criminal investigations related to cross-border crime and illegal movement of people and goods.
