Resistance. Civil resistance, also known as nonviolent resistance, is a political action that uses nonviolent methods to challenge a government, policy, or force without directly harming an opponent. The goal is to achieve political, economic, or social objectives through coordinated tactics like strikes, protests, boycotts, and other actions. Civil resistance can also involve exposing or undermining an adversary’s sources of power, such as their military, police, or business elite.
