    Presbyterian Church (USA). The “PCUSA” is a Mainline Protestant denomination in the U.S. It is the largest Presbyterian denomination in the country, known for its liberal stance on doctrine and its ordination of women and members of the LGBTQ+ community as elders and ministers.

    It was founded in 1983 in Louisville, Kentucky as a result of a schism with the conservative Presbyterian Church in America. With approx. 9,000 congregations, PCUSA has about 1.1 million members.
    The College of Wooster in Ohio was founded by Presbyterians in line with this denomination today.
