Prague Philharmonia (PKF). A Czech chamber orchestra founded in 1993 by conductor Jiří Bělohlávek, based in Prague.
History and Activities
Founded after Bělohlávek‘s resignation from the Czech Philharmonique, it was initially funded by the Czech Ministry of Defence for 40 young musicians. It performs at venues like the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum and receives sponsorship from the Czech Ministry of Culture and City of Prague.
Performances and Recordings
The orchestra is known for festival performances and recordings of works by Dvořák and Martinů, collaborating with renowned soloists and conductors.
