Nagaland. A state in northeastern India, bordering Myanmar. It was formed in 1963 from a region that was originally part of Assam. In 1957, the Tuensang Frontier Division of NEFA joined with the Naga Hills district. This formed the Naga Hills Tuensang Area. This area later became part of Nagaland.
