    Abraham Maslow (1908–1970). An American psychologist best known for creating Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, a theory of psychological health based on fulfilling innate human needs culminating in self-actualization. He was a prominent figure in humanistic psychology and taught at Brooklyn College.
