Mahabodhi Temple (India). An ancient, now restored Buddhist temple in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India, marking the location where the Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment. The Mahabodhi Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The temple, first opened in 260 B.C., is 180-feet tall. The complex covers 12 acres on the side of the river.
