Andrés Ortega Klein (b. 1954). A writer and analyst. He has been Senior Research Fellow at the Elcano Royal Institute and director of the Observatory of Ideas.
On two occasions (1994-1996 and 2008-2011) he was director of the Department of Analysis and Studies of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government, and advisor (1989) to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He has had an extensive career in journalism as a correspondent in London and Brussels and columnist for El País.
He is a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations Council and of the editorial or scientific boards of several journals.
B.A. in Political Science (Complutense University of Madrid), and M.Sc. (Econ) in International Relations at the London School of Economics (1979). Klein was born in Madrid, Spain.
Selected publications: he has as published several books, including La imparable marcha de los robots (Alianza Editorial 2016), La fuerza de los pocos (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2007), La razón de Europa (Aguilar, 2004). He has also published a novel, Sin alma (2012)
