Hatred. A strong, negative feeling of dislike or revulsion towards a person, thing, or idea. It’s often associated with anger, disgust, and contempt, and can be a learned emotion that develops without compassion. Hatred can be rooted in issues of power and control, shame, fear, and humiliation, and can be motivated by wanting what someone else has, feeling unfair, or believing someone is inferior.
