German Jews. With 118,000 members, the German Jewish community is the fourth largest in Western Europe and the eighth largest in the world as of 2023. The majority of Jews who currently reside in Germany were born in the former Soviet Union (USSR).
The umbrella organization of German Jewry, the Central Council of Jews in Germany (Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland), is the German affiliate of the World Jewish Congress.
