    Emma Felipe-Fernández, Ph.D.

    Whereas, the Clare Boothe Luce Award for International Service is named in honor of
     a true Renaissance woman who served both in the U.S. House of Representatives and as the
    first female American Ambassador, as well as having been a versatile author and editor; and

    Whereas, Dr. Emma Felipe-Fernández has professional experience as Partner and
    Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility Studio Leader,  IBM North America,
    and served as Vice President for Latin America BD & Strategic Marketing and Senior
    Director for Global Social Responsibility for AECOM Technology Corporation New York;

    Whereas, Dr. Felipe-Fernández taught Business in Society, Corporate Social Responsibility, Ethical
    Concepts & Theories, Sustainable Development, and Corporate Citizenship & Responsible Behavior
    at both ESADE International Business School in Barcelona and Tsing Hua University Beijing, China;

    Whereas, Dr. Felipe-Fernández speaks as native language Spanish and Catalan, is fluent in English,
    French, Italian, and Portuguese, has great skill with Mandarin Chinese, and counts as hobbies
     piano, opera, flamenco dancing, competitive running, rugby, sailing, skiing, modern art;

    Whereas, Dr. Felipe-Fernández has volunteered with orphans at St. Juan Dios Children’s Hospital
    in Barcelona, the Red Cross in London, and at an orphanage in Cheng Dong, China; as well as
     having taught entrepreneurship and micro-finance from San Salvador to The Bronx, New York City;

    Whereas, Dr. Felipe-Fernández Received her Ph.D. cum laude in Management & Economics from
    the University of Bordeaux, her Masters Degree (D.E.A.) with First Class Honors from the
    University Ramón Llull in Barcelona, her B.A. with Honors from University of Westminster London,
    a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside in York,
    and a degree in in Business Administration from ESADE – ESEI Business School in Barcelona;

    Be it known to all gathered here and connected around the world that the
    James J.D. Luce Foundation hereby confers all Honors & Salutations to Renaissance
    woman Dr. Emma Felipe-Fernández as 2018 Clare Boothe Luce International
    Service Awardee at the 18th Annual Summer Soirée at St. James Episcopal Church,
    New York City this Tuesday, July 24, Two Thousand and Eighteen.
