Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (D.E.I.). A framework that aims to ensure that all people are treated fairly and have the opportunity to fully participate in an organization. DEI is especially important for groups that have been historically underrepresented or discriminated against.

Here are some components of DEI:

    • Diversity: Refers to the different characteristics that make people unique.
    • Equity: Involves creating policies and practices to ensure fair treatment and access for all people. This includes challenging and responding to bias, harassment, and discrimination.
    • Inclusion: Involves creating environments where people feel welcomed, respected, and valued. This includes welcoming differences, listening to different perspectives, and ensuring that everyone feels a sense of belonging.

DEI can be important for businesses because different perspectives can lead to better products and processes. It can also be important for employees, as many workers say it’s important to work for a diverse company.
