College of Wooster. The College of Wooster is a private liberal arts college located in Wooster, Ohio. Founded in 1866 by the Presbyterian Church as the University of Wooster, it has been officially non-sectarian since 1969. The college enrolls around 2,000 students and is a member of the Great Lakes Colleges Association, and the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities.
Wooster has a strong international presence, with 15% of the student body representing 59 countries. This is in part due to the Wooster in India program, founded in the 1930s, which established a sister school relationship with a Christian College in Allahabad, India. The college offers majors in Cultural Area Studies and International Relations to further its global focus.
Henry Luce III served as a trustee of the college. Luce Hall was named after him.
