Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The founding and sole ruling party of the People’s Republic of China. Under the leadership of Mao Zedong, the CCP emerged victorious in the Chinese Civil War against the Kuomintang.
The party was founded by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Chen Duxiu, Zhou Fohai, and others in 1921 in the French Concession in Shanghai, China.
