    Secret Bombing of Cambodia. Known also by the code name “Operation Menu.” In 1969, President Richard Nixon ordered a secret bombing campaign of Cambodian sanctuaries which lasted until 1973. The campaign was orchestrated by Nixon and former Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger, who personally approved each of the 3,875 bombing raids. The Nixon administration kept the bombings a secret from Congress for several months.
