    Cori Bush. An American politician and activist who served as the U.S. Representative for Missouri‘s 1st congressional district. Bush was a former nurse and pastor. She gained prominence as a leader in the Ferguson protests. She was elected to Congress in 2020. She is a member of the progressive “Squad.” She is known for her advocacy on issues such as racial justice. She also advocates for healthcare and climate change. Bush’s progressive stance and outspoken nature made her a target for political opposition. Pro-Israel groups such as AIPAC made significant financial efforts to unseat her in the 2024 primary.
