Bella Abzug Leadership Institute

Bella Abzug Leadership Institute (BALI)(f.2005). A nonprofit organization in New York City founded by Liz Abzug in honor of her mother New York Congressmember Bella Abzug that imparts leadership skills to the nation’s most vulnerable and marginalized populations.

These include underserved, underrepresented, under-funded, and under-resourced communities, as well as female-identifying individuals and members of LGBTQAI+ community, such as transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, intersex, and other gender-expansive individuals.

BALI mentors and trains motivated youth, of middle, high school and college age, in the development of confidence and the critical skills needed to become effective, dynamic and visionary 21st century leaders.
