    Neil Armstrong (1930-2012, 82 years). An American astronaut and aeronautical engineer who, in 1969, became the first person to walk on the Moon. He was also a naval aviator, test pilot, and university professor.

    Neil Armstrong walked on the moon on July 20, 1969 as part of the Apollo 11 mission.

    Armstrong was born and raised in Wapakoneta, Ohio. He died in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2012 at the age of 83.
