Louis Armstrong

Louis Armstrong (1901-71, age 69). An American trumpeter and vocalist. Nicknamed “Satchmo,” “Satch,” and “Pops.” He was among the most influential figures in jazz. His career spanned five decades and several eras in the history of jazz. 

Born in New Orleans, died in Corona, Queens, New York City.
