Southern Africa is the southernmost region of the African continent, and is defined by geography or geopolitics. The UN defines Southern Africa as five countries in the southernmost part of the continent:
Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
