Whereas the Clare Boothe Luce Award for International Service is named in honor of
 a true Renaissance woman who served both in the U.S. House of Representatives and as the
first female American Ambassador, as well as having been a versatile author and editor; and

Whereas Dr. Geneive Brown Metzger was appointed as Jamaica’s eighth Consul General
to New York, adding to thirty years of experience in corporate communications,
public relations, government/international affairs, and community relations, as an executive,
entrepreneur and partner at one of the world’s largest public relations agencies;

Whereas Dr. Brown Metzger serves as President and Executive Director of the American Caribbean
Maritime Foundation supporting the Caribbean Maritime University, and as Consul General,
attracted over US$50 Million in investment to the Caribbean, securing both a donation toward
expansion of the University of Technology and scholarships for Bahamian students to Monroe College;

Whereas as an entrepreneur, Dr. Brown Metzger served an international clientele of private
and public sector organizations in the United States and the Caribbean. She currently heads
Gladvic Productions LLC, a television production company focused on Caribbean stories; and

Whereas Hon. Geneive Brown Metzger, LLD Hon. embodies the
characteristics of honor, intelligence, benevolence, and integrity;

Be it known to all gathered here and connected around the world that the
James J.D. Luce Foundation hereby confers all Honors & Salutations to
Hon. Geneive Brown Metzger, LLD Hon., President and Executive Director of the
American Caribbean Maritime Foundation as 2018 Clare Boothe Luce International Service Awardee
at the 18th Annual Leadership in The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia
