Luce, Henry (b. 1640)
Henry Luce, born in Gloucestershire, England in 1640, was an early settler in America and a prominent figure in colonial history. He was the first Luce to arrive in North America, landing on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. He is best known as the ancestor of Henry Luce, the founder of Time-Life magazines. Luce played a significant role in shaping the American landscape, and his descendants have continued to leave their mark on various fields.
