Robert Gore, M.D.
Department of Emergency Med., SUNY Downstate Medical Center, New York
Robert is an attending physician, assistant residency director and clinical assistant professor at Kings County Hospital – SUNY Downstate Department of Emergency Medicine in Brooklyn, N.Y. Since 2008 he has been working as a consultant for Clinique Espérance et Vie in Terrier Rouge (Northern Haiti) and working towards establishing a regional health care system in the northern part of Haiti. He is also a member of EMEDEX International, and is one of the leaders of its “Rescue, Recover, Rebuild Haiti” initiative, a comprehensive plan to help with both the immediate and long-term health needs of the people of Haiti.
“Despite the recent events that have taken place in Haiti we see a new energy stirring within the country that has been focusing on long term rebuilding efforts. The International University Center of Haiti project seeks to help contribute to these efforts by assembling a multidimensional concerted effort. I wanted to continue to be a part of a team of global citizens that shared this vision, particularly regarding healthcare, education and development. For this reason UNI has my full support. I look forward to its future success and its impact on the people of Haiti for years to come.”
